Norma is the first Bellini's opera presented by NCPA. Meanwhile, it marks also the debut of Norma in China. This production will be presented by NCPA Orchestra under the baton of renowned Italian conductor Daniel Oren, who has been music director of Deutsche Oper Berlin;European director Pier' Alli will also create elaborate stage design for this production. Reputed for the original and farsighted creation concepts, he combines lots of symbolic elements with modern designs, absorbingsculptural aesthetics ideas whichwill bring the Chinese audience a thrilling artistic enjoyment.

Carmen Giannattasio's unique talent is in high demand across the world. In April 2012, she made her debut at Royal Opera House, Covent Garden as Mimi in John Copley's production

of Puccini's La Boheme to critical acclaim. In September, this was followed by her Metropolitan Opera debut as Leonora in David McVicar's production of Verdi's Il Trovatore. In December, Giannattasio opened the season at Teatro San Carlo Naples with a 'triumph' (La Repubblica) in a new production of La Traviata directed by Ferzan Ozpetek. Highlights 2013 were performances as Mrs. Alice in Robert Carsen's new production of Verdi's Falstaff at La Scala, Milan, Verdi's La Traviata at Hong Kong Arts Festival, Leonora in Philipp Stolzl's new production of Verdi's Il Trovatoreat Wien Festwochen, Desdemona in Jose Cura new production of Verdi's Otello at Teatro Colon of Buenos Aires, Alice in a Blakeley's new production of Falstaff at Los Angeles Opera conducted by James Conlon. In 2014 season appeared in the New Year's Concert from La Fenice broadcasted worldwide, Verdi's Requiem in Valencia Palau de las ArtesTurandot (Liu) at Teatro Regio of Turin conducted by P.Steinberg and at Arena of Verona, La Boheme (Mimi) and Il Trovatore at Teatro La fenice in Venice. Her Maria Stuarda (Elisabetta) at Berlin Deutsche Oper in concert version and on stage in a new Production by Moshe Leiser at Royal Opera House in Londonwith critical acclaim by press and audience, Simon Boccanegra (Amelia) at Teatro alla Scala of Milanwhich was very welcome. Her schedule for 2015 includes: a Michieletto's new production of Il Viaggio a Reims (Madama Cortese) at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, Normain concert at the Al Bustan Festival in Beirut, La Boheme at the Berlin Deutsche Oper, Turandot (Liu) at San Carlo in Naples, Norma in Beijing, Maria Stuarda (Elisabetta) at Theatre des Champs Elysees in Paris, La Boheme at Teatro Regio of Turin, a new production of Il Trovatore by La Fura del Baus at the Nederlandese Opera in Amsterdam, a Michieletto's new production of Pagliacci at the ROH of London under the baton of Pappano.

The soprano's increasing demand across the globe has been mirrored by widespread critical acclaim. Following her Covent Garden debut the Independent's Edward Seckerson wrote:'she looked perfect, her tiny frame shaken by big notes of big conviction and phrasing in the heart-rending third act that truly prepared us dramatically for a genuinely touching death-bed scene.'
Upon winning the First Prize and the Audience Award at Placido Domingo's Operalia, Paris 2002, Carmen Giannattasio's special vocal gifts and dramatic ability quickly thrust her onto the world stage and gained her immediate critical attention and a reputation as a chameleon, who could transform herself and delve convincingly into the grand passions of the tragic operatic heroines. She boasts an impressive repertoire encompassing the great composers of the 18th-and 19th-centuries and has appeared in the major European and American opera houses and concert venues under the world's leading conductors, working with prominent and demanding directors.
